FIXED!

First ride out for the Merckx and Hillman running fixed on Saturday. Wasn't fantastic weather, but wet roads + new fixed riders = easy street skids.

The Hillman rides again!

After months hidden away in the shed building up a thick layer of dust the Hillman has been given a new lease on life. Thanks to some sweet-as Felt/Alex R390 Track wheels from Eddie the track master and some bits and pieces from the House Of Rewind. A late night session saw all the bits come together to make an extremely light bike and very exciting ride. Now it's time to get it out on the road and lose some skin!

The BH gets some bits!

Fresh in from Bike24 in Deutschland come the first bits that will adorn my new BH G3. This round of parts consist of a Selle Italia Flite Genuine Gel Ti316 test saddle, a Thomson Elite x2 stem and the 3T Ergonova Team carbon handle bars. The next order will be the wheelset and groupset which will be ordered in a month or two. I am still debating whether to get the 11 speed Campagnolo Chorus groupset or the 10 speed SRAM Force groupset. If you have an feeling towards or experience with either of these groupsets I would love you to let me know your feelings with a comment.

Vitamin Eddy

Should probably be Vitamin C, but the pink Merckx Strada has finally got it's new paint courtesy of Troy at Motocycle Crash Repairs. The colour is Kawasaki ZX10 Orange Pearl, and it looks fantastic.

For some reason the colours have adjusted when uploading; the orange is BRIGHT even by night, so I am sure by day it will just explode.

More pictures to follow.

Campagnolo Centaur & Veloce 10 speed - for 2011

Pity this is only coming in 2011

could have been good for the Merckx Corsa Extra!

From Campagnolo's website:

The new 10-speed project, the result of our experience working with professional cyclists, features the same high quality and technical features as our top-of-the-line 11-speed groupsets. The new 10-speed groupsets have been completely redesigned to improve performance, weight, reliability, and cost.

Shifting precision and speed have benefited from our experience in developing the 11-speed project. The introduction of the new Power Shift System™ enables the Ergopower™ shifters to seamlessly control the front and rear derailleurs. Thanks to the new optimised design of the teeth and the internal machining of the sprockets, shifting with Veloce is just as fluid as its 11-speed "big brothers".

The new 10-speed groupsets introduce one enormous innovation: the brand new Power Torque System™. The Campy Tech Lab™ engineers have devised a new bottom bracket. It is more economical, easier to install and service, while offering top level performance features comparable to those guaranteed by the Ultra Torque™ system. All this, at a lower cost.

The result of this hard work is incredible: the new 10-speed groupsets are more "aggressive" thanks to the reduced weight and price compared to the previous models, along with improved performance.

Big Three-Oh

Happy Birthday! This lovely teal, pink and black Merckx Corsa Extra (Columbus SLX) for Justin.

It has a Dura Ace headset, but Campy might just be a bit nicer... Build coming soon.
